DeadStick Ice Fishing
DEADSTICK FISHING INFO
Deadstick ice fishing excursions are unique and educational for clients. These guided ice fishing trips combine expertise, local knowledge, and customized products to target big local sport fish species in Wasilla, Palmer, Talkeetna, Willow, Sutton, and Glacier View.

Ice fishing can be a difficult challenge in Alaska battling the cold, thick ice conditions, overflow, and most importantly finding the fish! Deadstick Fishing has worked relentlessly on local waters for years figuring all that out for their clients. The lead guide and owner have years of working for ADF&G, USF&W, USGS, and local fishing shops as well as experimenting with hundreds of tackle rigs. This company has a wealth of knowledge to share with eager and determined clients itching to target big fish.

DeadStick Fishing provides top-quality gear, including tackle, auger, and custom-built fishing rods, and a cozy warm shelter with a heater. "Run and gun" techniques are offered as well to cover more structure while fishing for larger, more elusive species such as Arctic char and lake trout. This requires exposure to the elements by a snowmobile to be effective/successful.

Clients should prepare for very cold weather and use boots with socks that are rated for cold temperatures. Wool is far superior to cotton and please use a base layer, then a loose medium layer, and a thick layer with a shell if possible. There will be a shelter with a heater but transport back and forth to parking may be cold.

Deadstick Fishing is a family-oriented guiding company at its core and welcomes everyone! We love getting children involved in the outdoors. We are a veteran-owned company and serving military, veterans, and first responders is our uppermost honor; discounts are available for these individuals.
